Privacy Policy

1. Overview

ReviewAIde (“we”, “our”, “us”) operates the ReviewAIde web application and Chrome Extension. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights regarding your personal information.

2. Data We Collect

  • Account data: Email address, encrypted password (via Supabase Auth), and optional business type provided at sign-up.
  • Usage data: Number of review responses generated per billing period, for plan limit enforcement.
  • Review content: The review text you submit to generate a response. This is sent to an AI provider (OpenAI) to produce the response and is not stored beyond the request.
  • Payment data: Billing is handled by Creem.io (our Merchant of Record). We do not store credit card numbers. Creem.io’s privacy policy governs payment data.
  • Extension data: The Chrome Extension reads review text visible on Google Maps and Yelp pages you visit, solely to pre-populate the response generator. This data is not stored or transmitted beyond your active session.

3. How We Use Your Data

  • To authenticate you and maintain your account.
  • To enforce plan usage limits (free, pro, business).
  • To generate AI-powered review responses on your behalf.
  • To process subscription payments via Creem.io.
  • To send transactional emails (account confirmation, password reset).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We share data only with the following processors:

  • Supabase — database and authentication hosting.
  • OpenAI — AI response generation (review text is processed transiently).
  • Creem.io — payment processing and subscription management.
  • Vercel — web application hosting.

5. Chrome Extension Permissions

The ReviewAIde Chrome Extension requests the following permissions:

  • storage — to cache your authentication token locally so you stay signed in between sessions.
  • cookies — to read Supabase auth cookies for session management.
  • activeTab / scripting — to read review text on the currently active Google Maps or Yelp tab and inject the response panel UI.
  • alarms — to schedule proactive token refresh before your session expires.

The Extension only activates on google.com/maps and yelp.com pages. No browsing history or data from other sites is accessed.

6. Data Retention

Account data is retained for as long as your account is active. Usage counters are reset monthly. You may request deletion of your account and associated data at any time by emailing privacy@reviewaide.app.

7. Your Rights

Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have rights to access, correct, export, or delete your personal data. To exercise these rights, contact us at privacy@reviewaide.app.

8. Security

Data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+) and at rest (AES-256) via Supabase. Passwords are never stored in plaintext. Row-level security policies enforce strict data isolation between accounts.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or an in-app notice. Continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
